Community Service

Annual Service Project

DeMolay is an organization that was based on service and the Northern California DeMolay Association is honored to partner once again with the Me-One Foundation to be this year’s Jurisdiction Philanthropy.

Since 2008 the Me-One Foundation, a volunteer-run nonprofit, has hosted Camp Wieser, providing respite and peace for adults battling cancer. Me-One is all about Keeping Life’s Scoreboard at Cancer-Zero, Me-One.

Me-One’s mission is to lessen the pain that cancer brings to adult patients and their families, through activities and events that promote courage, hope and laughter. Camp Wieser gives families impacted by cancer the gift of time – time to rekindle connections, time to laugh, time to share and time to remember what normal feels like. This is an opportunity to focus on living life, not a diagnosis. Because of generous donations and supporters like DeMolay, campers and their guests pay absolutely nothing for their time at Camp Wieser.

Volunteer Opportunities

Community service hours are a requirement for high school seniors to graduate in some districts. They are meant to encourage students to contribute to society, develop civic skills, and learn from real-world experiences. By volunteering in various settings, students can explore their interests, discover their strengths, and build their networks. Community service hours also help students demonstrate their values, showcase their achievements, and prepare for college.

DeMolay has helped boys become men of outstanding character, through dedicated mentorships and unique, hands-on life-skill programs. DeMolay members take part in a wide-range of activities, such as community service, leadership development, team building, and networking. Therefore, DeMolay can be a great service organization to help high school seniors fulfill their community service hours and develop valuable skills for their future.
